Managing Meta Tags

Your Meta Tags for each web page on your entire web site can be edited quickly and easily with MyWebNControl.  Simply click the "Meta Tag" link found next to each page name (Home, Content, Sub, Detail), fill in the blanks, and click submit.  At the very minimum, we strongly recommend that you enter the Meta Tag "Title" for each page as you create it, so that the page title (which appears in the blue bar at the very top of your web browser) won't say "Untitled", which is the default title for each page.  Don't be intimidated by this procedure, it's really quite quick and easy.

By thoughtfully and creatively entering descriptive meta tag titles, descriptions, and keywords, unique and specific to each page, and by having relevant text content on those same pages that closely matches your meta tag content, you will help the web search engines index your pages for searching more effectively and accurately.

While meta tags are no longer the panacea for search engine findability that they once were, they are still a vital part of your organic foundation to optimizing your pages for search engine results.  See our Helpdesk Blog for additonal information, or search the Internet for volumes of information on the subject of "search engine optimization" and "meta tags".
